What should be in an AI use-case register?
A useful register connects purpose, ownership, review status and decision evidence without becoming a passive inventory.
Make it practical
- Record the purpose and operating context.
- Name the accountable owner and relevant reviewers.
- Keep status, decisions and follow-up evidence connected.
A register should help people understand what is in use and what needs attention. A list of technology names alone does not provide enough context for governance.
The useful unit is the use case: what the organisation is trying to do, who is accountable, what information shapes the review and which decision has been reached.
